What is PFC-Free

PFC free means that clothes do not contain perfluorocarbons, or PFCs for short. Such clothes are more green, environmental friendly and healthy, which is what Greenpeace International has long called for.

PFC is usually used as a waterproof and antifouling coating on textiles, which is very difficult to degrade in the environment. Studies have shown that some perfluorinated compounds, such as perfluorooctanoic acid, have bioaccumulation and can accumulate continuously in the human body through the food chain, interfering with the endocrine system and damaging reproductive organs.

Short chain perfluorinated chemicals may spread faster and faster than long-chain chemicals because they are more mobile. Unless high standards of occupational safety, well-equipped production facilities, untrained personnel and good waste and wastewater management are involved, the production of this material is usually a major threat to human beings and the environment.
